Projects
The Healing Canvas: Baton Rouge, LA
Located in the heart of Baton Rouge, LA, this adaptive re-use project transforms an existing structure into a dynamic and restorative space designed to foster personal healing, self-expression, and community connection through art therapy. This initiative preserves the past and breathes new life into it, creating a welcoming environment for individuals seeking therapeutic support.

Environmental District: San Juan, Puerto Rico
With this proposal, I intended to strengthen the natural barrier of coral reefs and mangrove swamps to protect the interior areas of the coastal land environment of the site. The environmental district is made up of three structures, all of which are focused on research and collaboration to ensure the strengthening of the natural barrier. Introducing this environmental district to the site would benefit the community as a whole, improving environmental, economic, and social conditions.

Bayou Nezipique: Jennings, LA
The goal of this project was to invest in Jennings, Louisiana's economy and community by cultivating green connections, promoting local foodways, providing resilient housing, and creating community gathering spaces that will cultivate social connections and strengthen the town's sense of place. The revitalization of Bayou Nezipique will promote social gathering through built and natural interventions.

The Papillion at Hilltop: Baton Rouge, LA
The Papillion at Hilltop works in tandem with the goals and proponents of Hilltop Arboretum- a botanical garden in Baton Rouge. The structure's programming celebrates volunteers by providing an expanse of lounge areas and offices. The program also extends an invitation to the community with an interactive educational area where visitors are able to interact with plant species found on the site. The addition of a butterfly garden in the courtyard of the structure attracts visitors of all ages as well as pollinators to benefit the site.

Cyclist Hotel: New York, New York
This project challenged my partner and I to work as a team to create a schematic design proposal for a cyclist hotel in New York City which connected the features of the surrounding site to one another. My partner and I devised five criteria to focus on throughout the design process: sun control, incorporation of green space into materiality, reduction of carbon emissions, enhancing accessibility, and connectivity. These criteria allowed us to move forward with our design while staying central to the ideas that made the project unique and efficient. The hotel is divided into two separate towers connected by a central public space on the ground floor. This public ground floor is also connected to the Highline, allowing visitors to walk directly off of the Highline to the hotel. This design allows for a more private experience for those staying at the hotel while giving the public access to the amenities included on the primary floor. The two towers both include balconies that are angled to provide pristine views of Little Island, which is direct across the street from the hotel. Our design also includes unique windows, which overlap and seemingly break apart the facade. These windows allow unique interior shadows, while their paneling system makes way for distinct view placement, meaning that specific views were chosen to be highlighted.

Cheese Shop and Bar: St. Louis, Missouri
This project prompted me to create a cheese bar and shop in the City Sculpture Garden of St. Louis. This is a beautiful site that features many works of art and provides an exceptional view of both the Wainwright Building and the Gateway Arch.
In my design, I wanted to provide visitors with an experience of connectivity with the site and with each other. To give this experience, I included aspects of wrapping and angularity in my structure, providing a feeling of synthesis of architecture and the art which surrounds it. The building itself boasts an open floor plan, allowing for the mingling of anyone who attends. the structure also includes a rooftop bar which provides a spectacular view of the Gateway Arch.

Artisan Cheese Production for Baton Rouge: Baton Rouge, LA
In this project, I was prompted to design a cheese creamery adjacent to Fulness Farms, a small independently owned organic farm in Baton Rouge. The creamery would both produce, ship, and sell cheese to local consumers. Using traditional French Villas as a precedent, my design features arches, pitched roofs, and a courtyard for visitors to enjoy while watching the production of Brie.

Program
Architectural programming involves extensive research and is imperative in the design of a structure. In this project, I explored this essential first step in the design process by creating three separate three-dimensional adjacency diagrams exploring spaces and their adjacencies.

The Louisiana State Bird Pavilion: Baton Rouge, LA
This project challenged me to design a unique pavilion to grace the river's edge in downtown Baton Rouge.
The inspiration behind this space was the state bird: the pelican. The Louisiana State Bird Pavilion's materiality was chosen to depict the bird's natural habitat.
Through the use of wrapping and with an emphasis on circulation, the structure was designed to house and showcase local art while allowing a visitor to take in the views of the river.

The Dance of Space
When looking through an architectural lens, all aspects of life have a sense of space. Dance is a beautiful example of this fact.
In this project, I analyzed a dance and created diagrams explaining the different phases of space created by the movements in the dance. From these 2d diagrams, I created 3d models, making it simpler to understand the concept of space in actual circumstances.

LOG
Progressing more in the area of understanding spaces, this project was meant to be a pavilion of sorts showcasing a log. A visitor of this structure would be able to make a loop throughout the space, simultaneously being able to take in the log on display.
The integration of an undulating roof adds a natural dimension to the structure, inviting a visitor to enter and explore what is being displayed. The structure boasts two main viewing points for the log, one being a balcony where a visitor can view the log from underneath, and a ground-level area where one is able to interact with the log.

Stairs
In an effort to have a better understanding of code and to be able to accurately draw a flight of stairs, the studio was challenged to draw a flight of stairs on campus.
This flight of stairs in particular was connected to our studio, as they are the exterior stairs of Atkinson Hall.

Assembly of Space
For our final project of the first semester, the studio was challenged with the idea of being stuck in a room for a year. This was prevalent, since the year was 2020, and we had all freshly experienced being in quarantine for an extended period of time. Having experienced the isolation associated with quarantine, I had many ideas to include in the space to improve the daily life of someone stuck in the same room for an entire year.
Primarily, I wanted the client to have ample room to get up and get moving. To accomplish this, I manipulated the integral pieces of the room (the bed, closet space, etc) in order to make room for a makeshift gym.
Knowing the importance of hobbies during a time of isolation, I added a balcony that held an easel facing a vegetable garden. This addition serves two purposes - to provide the client with an artistic, creative outlet while also giving them the opportunity to incorporate fresh food into their diet.

Adaptive Assembly
In an effort to fully understand the power of space, I explored the marriage of assemblies along a singular rod. Using bobby pins and key rings, I was able to grasp the concept of interlocking and adjacent spaces.

The Arm
In this project, the studio was challenged to think systematically by creating an arm out of cardboard. The arm was to be moveable, seemingly having joints.
